While on the subject of Brooklure is there anybody (or relative) in our AOMC Club who "worked " in the Galesburg , IL OMC plant in the late 1940s-1950s??? I have some plant photos plus several write-ups but as I can find Wico/Phelon and Indian Motocycle employees still alive in Springfield , MA no luck with Galesburg, OMC.

Yeah, there is very little on that particular model same Johnson & Evinrude—EXCEPT there was an Evinrude that did share a lot of parts. About the only commonly recognized thing on that one would be the OMC Magneto.

OK, want one you are sure to recognize? How about this one, very obvious Johnson CD-10 with a different hood. Even so, the powerhead is slightly different with a non-removable cylinder head.

I have a bunch of the wedge block Gales. I have a Brooklure 5, a GoodYear Sea Bee 5, Two Sea King 5 ‘s and a Hiawatha 5. I have an affinity for these! Oh! And a 1951 Bucaneer 12 wedge block with NO NUETRAL! LOL 😆. And then there is my Sea King 3 hp single X2, and of course my Bucaneer 3 hp single 😯💯. I’ll buy every Gale I come across hahaha 😂
