I have a 1945 Zephyr with a “Bureau of Ships” ID plate on it. Any info on what these may have been used for? Obviously could never have powered Storm Boat size boats.

I think that I recall where the US had a package with an inflatable boat , survival supplies and an outboard motor that could be air dropped to a downed pilot at sea.  You might want to search about that topic.

Could not find anything concerning Zephyrs used by the military.

Thanks seaK… that is the ad that I remember. I don’t think that that Zephyr would get a flyer all the way from the Coral Sea back home to San Deigo , but it might help get him safe.
