The model plate is disintegrated. I can see there is a label under clear plastic on the front bottom housing that says “7 1/2 special”. Trying to determine model name and a year or year range . Thanks.

Can’t tell for sure, but it’s made by West Bend. They made the 10A131 7.5 hp in ’60 and ’61, and they made a model 7001 in ’62.

Yep, a West Bend. Actually evolved from the pea-green Sears Elgins of the ’50’s with a fiberglass cover.

            Thanks Tom,
Other than the model plate is there any other way to tell year from numbers on the engine such as the flywheel, or other places? Thanks
