capacitors in a condenser can

has anyone had problems with the capacitors over heating while installed in the

condenser can ?  what  do you use to seal the top or do you leave it open .

i  soldered the  bottom wire to the can . thanks  AL

None of my motors with electronic capacitors have enough running
time on them to know about “overheating” problems, but I haven’t
heard of anyone else suggesting that it was an issue.

I usually put some kind of silicone sealant about the axial caps
in the old condenser can, to prevent vibration and damage.

there is a product   (paste) you can use to act as a heat sink  if cap overheating is a concern…

 

here is one  non conductive  product   clear  silicone or epoxy  should do  to top off the cans
