        Thank you Tubs!! One pic is worth a thousand words!! Also don;t turn over the flywheel while the ohmeter is connected, the meter will be destroyed by the electrical energy produced by the magneto. Another tip is if you replace the spark plug wires on the coil use as little heat from the soldering gun as overheating the fine wire of the coil on the coil terminal may melt & open the coil. Place the heat on top of the soldering terminal &
        be sure to have a good clean soldering tip & “tin” the tip with solder before applying to the terminal. The heat transfer will be faster & a guy can get off the terminal faster.

        P.S. Test at the coil spark plug terminals on the coil, not the wires thus illimating a possable wire failure.

        Coils go bad because of age & also fron removing from the spark plug from a running motor, again the magneto has made energy & it will go somewhere usually thru the coil windings. Inspect your old coil for a small “pit” mark in the exterior of the windings.
