December 26, 2017 at 5:32 am #68995I repainted a’76 Johnson 6hp. It had a bit of gold in the paint,i used the BRP Evinrude/Johnson spray paint. You MUST shake the can for way longer than the 1 minute the cans instructions say. Turn it upside down and shake for an additional minute,or till your arm is sore, whichever comes first. There is a product service bulletin about the need to shake it a lot more after complaints about the color match.

Robbie RobertsonDecember 26, 2017 at 3:48 pm #69009Here is a list i found. The the 1975 and 1976 colors are close, the 1975 has some slight gold in it. Maybe someone has one of the Product Bulletins from OMC about shaking the paint for a better match. Maybe Mumbles can clarify these years Green and Green/gold

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
