I know where the spark plug wire goes and I know where the timer wire goes. My question is where does the condenser wire connect? I see the solder bump right ahead of the condenser. Is this where it connects?

Looks like a 1914 Evinrude coil. What motor is this on? Yours is wired the opposite of what I’d expect, but I’m not an expert. On your motor it appears the primary is isolated from ground and the secondary output is grounded.

I’m at the point of reassembling my 1914 motor. It’s completely apart. Numerous questions:

1  Do I use a sealant when assembling the bronze crank case halves?  If so what should I get?

2 There didn’t appear to be any gasket in-between the cylinder and the bronze crank case. Do I need a gasket? How thick? And/or some kind of sealant?

3 Is there a way to test the magneto before installing it? Resistance readings etc??

4  I REALLY NEED A NEW GAS TANK!! ANY ADVICE??
