Hi all,
Well I did it again! Bought another old Johnson outboard.
This one is a little special as it was built the same year I was born.
Do any of you have a source for a Cruise-a-Day 6 gallon fuel tank and lines? (Pressurized fuel system).
Whats the fair going price for them?
Perhaps you have one you would sell? I’m in Wisconsin.
I’ve been looking on Craigslist but no luck.
I would really like to get this running again.
Thanks for the help.Dane

Sometimes the tank is worth more than a motor that may come with it. The good news is that parts to rebuild them are still made. Good dual gasline is made by Sierra Marine, also sold by NAPA auto stores – both call it #18-8051. Some places make you buy a 50 foot roll and others will sell it by the foot.

Here is one that needs rebuilding -(probably diaphragm, gasket and line) that is reasonably priced, but the primer button may be broken off – I don’t see it sticking up:
Here’s one in Minnesota that looks to be a 1955-56 because of the metal primer button:

You can post a "Wanted" ad here on our classified board and someone near you will likely have one. Be sure it has the connector on the end of the hose.
They were made in 4 and 6 gallon versions. Note that the replacement diaphragm if needed varies with the year of the tank.Another option is to add a fuel pump and change the connector on the motor and then you can use any single line tank. If interested, people here can recommend available aftermarket fuel pumps, and tell you how to convert.
What year and HP Johnson do you have? The dual line tanks were last used in 1958. Different year tanks will work with all motors that need the dual line tank. If you have a 18 to 35 HP motor, you will want the 6 gallon tank.
