Bought a set of rings on Ebay for what I thought was a good price. Didn’t have a particular use for them at the moment, but I am going to rebuild a 10hp Evinrude in the near future. The rings came in and are Federal Mogul. According to the seller they fit the following: Hiawatha 1951-53 12hp, Johnson 1949-63 10hp, Evinrude 1951-56 15hp, Evinrude 1956-63 10hp. They are shown on the box to be 2 3/8" bore and all six rings are 3/32" thick. The following numbers are on the box:
      150M125-7981A
      250M125-7981A
      350M125-7981B
Anybody know what those numbers indicate? Just Federal Mogul designations?

Those numbers are Hiawatha model numbers.

Here’s a link to Hastings showing those same numbers.

Thanks Mumbles! Never even considered that. Now I see it. Don’t have any Hiawatha motors yet, so not familiar with the model lingo. Got them for $14.25 so I thought that was pretty good.
