I am currently restoring several Johnson outboards and need to get the correct decals for them.

Some that I have ordered have white lettering and some with cream color with gold script.

      The motors are: 1953 TN-28 5 hp.,   1954 CD-10 5.5 hp.,  1955 CD-12  5.5 hp.

Did any of the above motors use decals with gold script and instruction lettering?

The 1953 had white lettering with a black and red outline, the 1954 had white with red outline and the 1955 had kind of a cream colored lettering with a red outline.   You can find complete and style correct decal sets at North York Marine.

          Thanks Bob,

I had received the decals from Peter and they were as you said.

The seahorse and instruction decal was done in gold ink; no problem.

I have previously ordered decals from other suppliers and the lettering and all the scripts were white. Apparently not that accurate.

          Thanks again for your help!!
