This ’67 Johnson six horse was destined for the smelter when I found it but after replacing the water pump, ignition system, the swivel tube and installing a carb kit, it came to life on the third pull. I also installed a later model gearcase off the rack as I was out of seals for the original one. A quick rattle can paint job and it’s good to go now. But I’m still wondering, was fifteen dollars too much to pay for it in the first place?

Long live American manufacturing!

July 5, 2015 at 3:16 pm #19507Yah, you are in to it WAY too much! I could use a few good deals like that. Those little 6 hp’s are just a handy size to have.
