      This grip is presently on a tiller of a 1958 18 hp Johnson.
      Does anyone recognize the grip?

        Yep an aftermarket extension handle.  Brand name “Gils” ??????

          Yup, it’s the tiller grip replacement part for the Gils tiller extension.

          The top extension in the photo is collapsed. The second one is extended and the bottom one is a longer one I made out of aluminum tubing. I think it was 1″ ID.
