      Tubs,

In your picture there is a washer on the bolt through the points block there. should I try to remove it?

If that is a fiber insulating washer your
not getting any current to the points.
A rusty metal washer can have the same result.
When you remove the washer check that
there is an insulator in the metal that the
screw pass through. The screw needs to
insulated from contacting the metal of the
mag plate while letting current pass through
        the screw to the points.

The fiber washer is on the other side, before the base. That is an older metallic washer. Ill take the whole assembly apart clean and re do. I sent my flywheel to another member to re magnetize for me, so I was lazy today and didn’t work on it until I got that back.

          Thanks.

I’d try the flywheel first before doing anything else.
When you do several thing at one time you never
know for sure what the problem was.

It looks to me like the arrow is pointing in the proper direction. . . 🙂
