That C9544 # is on a little paper sticker that I tried to take a photo of. I read the number with a magnifying glass and a flashlight. We are in Canada and the paper sticker says Sears Simpsons. That was a Canadian store that was actually called Simpson Sears.

Sears sold tonnage of those Eska-built outboards.  Folks whipped out their SEARS credit card and enjoyed the miracle of low monthly payments…..all the while enjoying their outboard.  If the Johnson dealer took credit cards….things might have been different.

So;  yours says “SKIPPER” on it somewhere?

Basic air-cooled powerhead;  probably has an water-cooled leg.  Yours is old enough to have a magneto ignition.

If you have specific questions of course go ahead and ask….but start a new thread first.

I have not seen the word Skipper on it but that number I referenced in a search says Skipper. My husband is wondering if it should be painted cream or turquoise as we have seen here.

The picture you posted shows it in the original colors. A tad rusty perhaps but typical.

There’s an ad for a “Skipper”.
