I just acquired an Elto Cub that I will be restoring to Museum quality.  I nee some parts which are missing and will be looking to replace.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

My collection is Chris Craft outboards, vintage Evinrude and Johnson outboards,

First I’m going to start with the don’t s. Don’t beat on the flywheel nut to get the flywheel off. Get a bolt and a couple of nuts. The nuts are pretty small to just jam on the bolt. You might try an epoxy if you aren’t able to weld them together. Keep the bolt tight to the crankshaft and you wont damage it. B- don’t try to take out the fuel petcock with out gripping the fitting in the tank. These tanks are paper thin and if you don’t have a hold of it you will rip the fitting out of the tank. Some parts are hard to come by. Others are really hard to come by. And some are impossible to find. All are expensive. These aren’t rare motors but there is a strong demand for them. Like you, people with an incomplete motor, will hang on to it, hoping to find what they need, so parts rarely come up for sale. However I do know someone that has a few parts for sale. I don’t know what all he has or what was already sold. What are you looking for?  I’m presently attempting to repair one to run this summer. I’ll be posting the regular services as well as any other issues I may discover in – New Arrival “I’ll Just”. If you have any specific questions post them here or there. I may be able to help you.
