I’ve got a couple elto handitwins and I’m trying get one running. No fire. Plug wires BARELY attached to the coil and when trying to remove the parts and pieces to clean all the connections, one of the plug wires fell completely off the coil. I don’t see any copper to attach the plug wire back to so I’m stumped help is appreciated I’m gonna try to attach a photo

And here’s the coil I’m pretty sure I trashed by trying to expose something to solder to. Am I correct?

That doesn’t look good. However there are some great alternative coil “fixes” on the forum.

I’m sure you can make something work.

Those wires are hair-thin. Good luck with trying to reconnect, but I suppose it’s been done by somebody.

If you carefully cut the casing back a bit sideways, you should find the end of a braided wire. This braided wire is the connection between the coils fine secondary windings and the terminal for the plug wire and is only about an inch or so long. If you can find the end of it, you should be able to solder the terminal back on to it using rosin core solder. A clear, non metallic epoxy can then be used to fill in any divots left from exploring for the braided wire.

I wonder if a good Starter/Alternator repair shop could do it……
