Garry, I’ve never seen anyone braze or solder aluminum successfully. Anytime I have tried it I can’t get the heat level between the two pieces to mesh correctly. I usually damage the piece to be repaired by putting in too much heat. Any tips?

Like the N.Y. cab driver said when asked about how to get to Carnigey Hall, "Practice, Practice, Practice."

              "NO" JB Weld for me,
I donΒ΄t believe all the crap talk they say about it

Okee , you have to try it, well….. I did, and…..
I don’t move from my stand
welding or solder aluminium and like Garry……..practice

              to practice
heat a nasty part up and try…..
the trick is, hold the aluminium solder rod not in the flam
but move it over the surface in
small circles behind the flame till it melts
( hope you all understand, English is not my first language and translations are sometimes hard ) πŸ˜† πŸ˜†

The drilled looking hole was drilled. The unwanted hole is 8 o’clock from the drilled hole. It’s small.

I suggest using some ‘brake clean’ to flush the hole out prior to epoxying. You can get some at any automotive supply. Kenn
