Anyone have any good photos, advertisements, etc., regarding
the subject motor?
Did Eska actually advertise? Not sure I’ve ever seen one of their ads.Mine has been repainted white. While I’m unsure of the original color
at this point, I found one photo online of the same model, that’s “blue”.It being called a “Golden Arrow 400”, one would think there would be
a fancy “arrow” decal on the tank, but I only seen the back of the tank
on the online photo.
Mine only has a poor decal on the front of the tank mentioning
the operating instructions, and the “Tecumseh Corporation”.The engine tag number was the only means that I ID’d it as
a Golden Arrow 400, using one database I had.I’ve been putting off working on this one the last 8 years, just
because it’s an Eska, but it’s now or never! My Jewel in the Rough……..
The Internet Photo…..
Is “Blue” the correct color?Prepare to be boarded!
April 25, 2024 at 6:54 pm #287326Be creative with that one! Have Dave Shabasteri on ebay make you up one of the greatest golden arrow decals that the world has ever seen! Some retired ESKA dude will see that and wonder “sheesh….why didn’t WE think of that….”?
I wonder what the site didn’t like about your jpeg image?

My wife dabbles in painting abstracts, etc., perhaps
I can talk her into painting a golden arrow! The internet photo had a “web” type extension, and
I changed it to a jpg when it was rejected.
On the second try, I did a screenshot of it then saved
it as a jpeg.Prepare to be boarded!

To confuse the issue here is another(Canadian)Arrow. Not mine. Just have pictures.
Tubs.
April 26, 2024 at 2:06 am #287333To my (limited) knowledge, Eska never used ‘arrow’ in any of their model names. They produced a Golden Jet 400 ’62’-65, and also a Blue Jet 100 and 200 in ’62. The 400 was model 1121. I owned the larger cousin way back then, the Golden Jet 700. The Arrow somebody posted about wasn’t an Eska, it was a Canadian concoction with a Tecumseh powerhead.
I think yours should have a wraparound cowling, but I’m not positive. There’s an Eska group on Facebook that might have more info..

The address [Arrow Outboard] out of Montreal was 754 Wellington
st. Montreal 101 Quebec Canada or Triton Industries IncI had an Arrow outboard long ago, apparently Tecumseh powerhead, Eska based, air cooled 6 hp single. It was nearly identical to the one you pictured. It was all white.

If you follow the arrows, you’d be going
around in circles!.
