      i am working on a 1951 7.5 eninrude mod.4443 i have read in past of modifing a newer type impeller to fit my motor any info on that would be greatly appreciated thanks

        Yes – another Fleetwin owner had that problem yesterday. The later model OMC {Evinrude/Johnson) 5 and 7.5 horse models use a pump impeller just slightly larger. Early fleetwins had some problems with the hub and it was changed a couple times the first year. So the first thing to do is drill the shaft hole to fit your drive shaft. Next, using a belt sander shave the top and bottom of the new impeller to fit your pump housing.
