1965, 5hp. OMC came out with a low-cost motor in the theory that people would buy a “real” outboard instead of buying those lawn mowers-with-a-propeller (Eskas) from Sears. Didn’t work, people still flocked to Sears for no-money down and easy payments on their Sears card.
It is basically a 6hp powerhead with a tiny carburetor, mated to a 4hp right-angled lower unit. Propellers are nearly impossible to find now.
