Good morning, I found this motor this weekend and it followed me home. I’m having a hard time finding info on it though. It appears to be an 80’s motor and is electric start. Serial number is: E0665150.

      Any ideas?

According to the model number, it is a 1987 15hp manual start, long shaft… But, the electric start kit could have surely been added later, and it could have been converted to short shaft…

The RL means Factory Remote-Long shaft. I just found this out. It is a factory electric start. I am converting to a short shaft.

Where did you find that info? Remote electric models were not offered until 1990, they were referred to as “REL”. In 1987, OMC offered kits to make engines remote electric start, but that would not be reflected in the model number.
Not that it matters too much, all the part numbers for the various 1987 models are shown in the same parts breakdown.

E15RLCUD is a 1987 15hp Evinrude rope start, long shaft (20″ transom). The electric start on your engine was added as a “kit”.

Robert, Model numbers from those years are tricky, but what fleetwin said….
