How do you remove the race for the thrust bearing?

Is this view looking into the empty gearcase from the propeller end? If you can’t get the jaws of a puller behind the race, try heating the outside of the case in the bearing area really hot and then strike the case on something hard, like a concrete floor, to try and knock the race loose. If you could shrink the race at the same time by cooling it, it would probably fall right out.

I tried the heat method and it popped right out. Tried on my second one and it forever but also worked.
