Hi All,
Having trouble getting the impeller housing off of the Evinrude 7.7 HP Fleetwin, I am trying not to destroy it and reuse it . Seems like it is pressed in or ?? Anyone been thru this ?
Thanks,
RJ
In the picture, what’s up with that tab on the right side of the housing? Epoxied in place or something?

Notice there are no screws in the housing—it can rotate in there. EXCEPT for that tab which fits into a notch in the gearcase which prevents it from rotating. Along with that, a flat spring holds the pump housing up in place (no screws)

I have the neutral clutch working and the new impeller is working nicely, my next project is to replace the recoil spring, the parts diagram shows there is a starter hub pin #202156 and the starter spindle and pin. Are there two pins in the assembly, the only pin I see is the one in the starter spindle, if there are two pins where does the other one fit into the assembly.
Thanks,
RJ

Thanks, that is kind of what I thought. What diameter and length of rope do you use, thinking I’ll replace the while i have it apart.
Thanks again,
Steve
