Picked up a poor man’s Speeditwin at Tomahawk.
      Model 6039, Serial 23615
Looking at online data, it said made between 1939
      to 1950.
I was hoping to narrow down the date a little closer.
Anyone have a serial number database for these year
      Evinrudes to share?
      Thanks.

7tcu is correct. Thats a 1949. I saw that motor laying in that trailer at Tomahawk with a NFS tag on it. The serial # puts it in the 1949 range as does the gearfoot and transom clamp handles. Its missing the spark plug covers but they’re easy to find. The tiller handle is also from a pre war Evinrude. The correct one is black bakelite. No matter though. They work the same plus the earlier one won’t chip or break. Speeditwins are awesome motors. When tuned right they go like hell. They also have a unique feel and sound. I have a 1949 serial # 23826. Close to yours. Its one of my favorite motors to run. Good luck with her.

Thanks for the replies. Are those serial numbers and years in the “outboard bible”
that I can’t seem to find right now? 🙁
