If you replace them, they have different grades of "crush"

If they are too dense, they will not crush under the torque of the screw, and then will not seal.

That is what provides the "seal", the washers crushing ability, at the recommended torque of the fastener.

I’ve looked at different "fiber washer kits" on Ebay, etc,
and haven’t found any that list "specifications" on
"crush", grade, or if they’re fuel proof, etc.
Looked up the Fleetwin pivot pin gasket 302756,
and the only one listing this official OMC part
is Crowley Marine. .99 cents plus $3.95 shipping.
Trying to find a kit with good quality fiber washer
applicable for outboards so I don’t have to
hope the hardware store ones will work or
send away for a tiny $5 fiber washer, but
        the task doesn’t appear easy!

          quote Garry in Tampa:

I have used nylon washers when the fiber ones were unavailable. . .
          😉

X2…Try the nylon washers combined with your choice of thread sealer. Ace hardware has a good selection, or Grainger, or Mcmaster-Carr, if you know the size.

Aquasonic, will have to look for various sizes of nylon washers.
Perhaps they’d seal better than the "hard as rock" fiber ones
I got from the hardware store!
