I just purchased my first Rowboat motor this morning. Cast in the exhaust it says "Evinrude detachable rowboat motor "A".
The only stamping I can find is on the casting of the tank, 39A.
Would that be the serial number?
Would any of you guys know the year?
If you have any other information to share I would be interested.
Thank you.
Alan
. You can find the serial nr. on the ID plate on top of the fuel tank.
I think………that plate is no longer there,
otherwise you would have seen it,
so what is the best guess to determine your motor.
Its a non reversible model , we call that a model " B "
the muffler is not water cooled , that makes me thinking 1914,
because 1915 , the water cooled muffler was introduced.
.
Thanks so much. Yes on the tank I can see the rectangle where the tag was but it is missing. It seems to be in fairly good condition and has all the parts. It turns over. Missing some fasteners and the tiller handle that I can see so far. I have been looking for a long time and this is the only one that I have found that was affordable.
Amazing that it is 102 years old and was sitting in a shed.
