I was just wondering….. seeing that magnetizing older flywheels involves the application of a strong magnetic field …… would one of these super strong magnets … properly oritented against the flywheel’s own magnet be of any use to re-orient the weak flywheel magnets and give them a new life ??
these super strong magnet did not exist in the old days and I can assure you they generate a super strong field Aligning them properly (N-S) may just do it after a day or two
Strong rare earth or neodymium magnets have been attached to flywheel magnets in the past to improve the magnetism and I have a video or two of it somewhere but I will have to search for them. I do have a pack of magnets on hand for just this purpose but I haven’t tried them out yet.
