Last time I put brake lines on my car the auto parts supplier recomended this nickle copper brake line tubing. I used to buy 25 foot bulk steel line. I had never seen the nickle copper bulk line before.I bought 3/16” size. He said it was available in larger sizes like 5/16 and 3/8. It is easier to bend than steel, not supposed to rust and flairs good. A steel roll costed about $16.00 and this stuff costed about $32.00 if memory serves right. It has a light gold coloring to the metal. I t’s called NI COPP. Copper , Nickle Steel Alloy. AGS company Muskegon Mi.

Hmmm. There are at least two flavors of copper-nickel: “Farmer’s Copper Ltd. inventories Copper Nickel C70600 (90/10) and C71500 (70/30) tubing. Copper Nickel, also known as cupro nickel or CuNi, has proven to be very resistant to seawater, brine water, organic compounds, salts, diluted non-oxidizing acids, and more. Due to its complete resistance towards marine organisms such as barnacles, Copper Nickel tubing is commonly used in seawater piping systems.”

Amazon has four sources of 3/16″ brake tube (25 ft) ranging in price from about $17 to double that. Most come with some fittings. Are there important quality differences? I don’t know. https://www.amazon.com/Nickel-Copper-Brake-Line-Tubing/dp/B00A02C9H0

In any case I ordered 25″ of 3/8. I think PEX would have worked fine, but…..

If anybody else should need some, Go2Marine currently has 3/8″ type A1 fuel hose on sale for less than $2.00 per foot.
