I took this fuel pump apart in hopes of replacing diaphragm and gasket. Now I need to reassemble it but my arthritis will make it a daunting task. Perhaps I can hold it in a vise and have at least to fumbling hands to assemble it. I know there are other fuel pump options but that wouldn’t be challenging enough.

What I do is drive 2 finish nails into a board that are spaced so that the holes on opposite corners of the pump body will fit down over them.

This keeps things in alignment and frees up a hand.

A jig made with some old coil screws with the heads cut off works for me.

Never gave that a thought but now appears obvious. Thank you

What are you going o do for a diaphragm? You know that kind is obsolete, don’t you?

I will use the one in it. When that fails I will go to plan B which is to fabricobble one and when that fails I will go to plan C. I’m not a plan B or C type out of the gate. I could go directly to plan C but I have all this retirement time available.

I predict Plan A will leak at the arrow. On to plan B.

Fortunately I will only be trolling around the Koi pond. When all goes wrong I will hike back to shore in 3 feet of water. Place you bet on whether I break down or the park police catch me first.

Will those modern fuel pumps like Mumbles posted work?
