The models that are known to be prone to repeated connecting rod failure indicates a flaw in the design. Just adding excessive amounts oil can’t resolve that. I would suggest you use the best oil available and limit the time you run the motor wide open, if at all.
Definitely a flaw in the design for sure. Using the original recommended fuel/oil ratios surely does not correct the flawed design, but might make a difference between pitching a rod and not. Using good oil and definitely limiting WOT will help as well.
