I recently purchased a used Johnson HA15 carb from Doug Penn and was happy to find he through in a set of nos carb gaskets for it as well. They seal the carb to the block, intake, cooling passages and are made of .020 stiff black material w/white threads thru them. I would like to make a few extra sets as long as I have them and was wondering what would be the next best thing to that type of material as I haven’t been able to find that type. I have felpro karropak#3045 tan fiber sheet 1/64",1/32",and 1/16" for sealing against oil, coolant, and gasoline but i’m not sure its usable for this application? Maybe with some gasket maker sealer #4 brushed thinly on them they would work if I used the felpro fiber material? Any suggestions for other gasket material that would be passable to make these?
