Two questions. #1. I bought some gasket material to make a new exhaust manifold gasket for my 3 hp Johnson. It’s fel-pro 3157. Will this work? Or what do I need. Could find no info on temp range. Said it was good for oil, gas, water. #2. Just picked me up an ultrasonic cleaner. I know I just seen a post on this topic but cannot find it. Sorry i know this has been talked about before. What is the best solution, mixture to put in this machine. Cleaning of course old boat parts. Thanks guys!

PM Crosbyman for the solution. He’s made his own machine.

Lets see if anyone chimes in on the Felpro 3257 material… but if it’s the common fiber/paper stuff I doubt that it will hold up for long in exhaust application, but then on a little 3 HP might be ok. As for serious high temp gasket material the best that I have found is Fel-Pro Pro-Ramic 2499 ( NAPA) . This material has a perforated metal core with layers of high temp fiber bonded to each face. Not easy to cut but tough stuff.

For my ultrasonic cleaner I use Simple Green Extreme Aircraft and Precision Cleaner number 13406.

Thanks. I’ll have to look that up and order some.
