      While reading the latest Outboarder
I came across this old advertisement.
      Has anyone owned one?
I would think the kit must of contained a flywheel-starter and starter bracket
I am assuming it was after market.
From what I know -There never was factory electric starting for 1951-1953
And a person can not use a 1954 factory starter bracket on 1951-1953
I’m pretty familiar with 1955 and forward already.
      Please enlighten me

I believe there was a chain drive affair available. Don’t know if this was it or not.

            seakaye12 picture is probably it
These pictures are from a 1954 25 hp parts catalog
In seakaye12 picture I would not think a traditional ring was used

Here’s some photos I found years ago.  Not sure if it’s an aftermarket kit or homemade.

That chain would sure get to whirring.

I’m sure, or sure hope, that the chain drives to a ratchet on the flywheel, just like with the rope pull recoil.

The whole idea is that it keeps spinning. Once the motor runs it functions as an alternator

                        Yes.
Dyna start is a combination of starter motor and alternator.
Try powering an alternator, it will run as a motor.
