With a lot of time on my hands to ponder projects, I’m thinking of buying a Mityvac 8255 and adapt it for use as a gearcase pressure tester. It’s the version with both pressure and vacuum. Has anybody else used one of these?

        yep should work ok

I went for the one in the video $49 … got it from amazon … PITA it worked for 10 minutes…

I swapped mails with seller ( “8milelake” or something) but ended up nowhere 🙁 after AMAZON kept editing out my personal coordinates the seller wanted. to ship a new one

Being secure info ???…… Amazon kept erasing my info on the mails transferred back to the seller…. go figure ???

I eventually gave up on Amazon and the Seller and opened the thing up (few screws) turned out an internal check valve had gotten loose inside….

I put back in it’s place with some locktite and it worked fine after . Pressure tested my gearcase +15 psi and -10 PSI .. got my 3/8 16tpi fitting from a 12$ gearcase oiler pump

          Steve,
Sadly I have the pressure & vacuum marine pumps & paid too much for them. But they sit waiting for use.
