I an old Evinrude motor came with my Penn Yan Swift when I bought it about 8 years ago and have never done anything with it. It’s been in storage but now I need to sell it, but I really don’t know what its worth and its condition. What would a potential buyer want to know that I could pretty easily find out for them so they could evaluate it? Here are a couple of photos.

        Hi,

If you give your basic location perhaps a member who lives near you can offer some assistance.

Your motor looks like a 1955  25hp aquasonic Evinrude.  Great motors when they get fixed up.  A little hard to pull when starting, electric start helps.  They are tractors but on you PenYan not necessary.

Where is the serial or model number on this motor to properly identify it?

These might be some typical questions a potential buyer might ask. I’m sure there’s others too but these might be the basics.

What’s the year and HP? How’s the compression? Do you know the history of the motor? Last time it ran? Does it need work to run? If so, what? Does anybody still work on them? Can you still get parts? Where to get parts? How much does it weigh?

a buyer may want to know where the tiller is  or… the electrical harness/shifter controls  🙂
