This is an md 38. I am sourcing the pawls/springs, etc but thought i’d clean up inside the mag a bit and remove the “gorgeous “ red paint! Not sure if I’ve ever removed a fly like this little one. Been a long while since I’ve played with these little johnsons from the 30s.

Can I get a clue? Please?
      Thanks!
      Scott

Scott, believe you’ll just have to use the “hammer” method of your choice.
It would be nice to have one person to hold the motor off the ground via
the flywheel, while the other person did the hammering.

Some people use the “knockers” mentioned many times on the forum.

        Good Luck!

        Prepare to be boarded!

That’s right!! The knockers! I knew I’ve seen this type of flywheel addressed before! Anyone got a picture handy? It’s like 2 nuts welded together, right?
          Thanks Buc!

Since I don’t weld, I’ve used something like this
