My family and I have inherited a 1940s Mighty Mite and have decided to pass it along to someone who would take care of it. It’s currently in Michigan. Are these worth anything? I saw one on ebay for $600. And if it’s not worth anything, does anybody want it? Thank you. Ann Beardsley
I used to have a desire to get one to use as an emergency kicker, and I’ve seen them at various aomci meets, with higher asking prices than I was willing to pay. Never got one either. $600 seems a tad high to me, but they certainly don’t seem to be a $50 motor. So what’s it really worth? I dunno.
I have four, most I paid was $80 for a nice looking and running motor with an intact skeg from a private seller. The others came from flea markets with broken skegs, but were too inexpensive to pass up. There are many members in Michigan, what area are you in? I’m near Grand Rapids.
If you have too many, AND not enough, you're a collector.
Thanks, Kerry…I guess my greed was getting to me when I saw the $600 price online, and didn’t want to discard it if it really was worth that much! 🙂
That said, does anybody want one for free? Have to pick up in Michigan…
Thank you for not discarding it, though they may not have great value some find value in them as MAN CAVE art or BAR art or BASS PRO SHOP art or parts to complete another project. Thanks for stopping by.Jim
I just gave eight project motors away for free, four of which were Mighty Mites. They were listed on my local Facebook Marketplace and my phone was ringing off the hook. I’m sure the new owner could get at least two of them running with a bit of work. Easy come, easy go!
