What are people using to replace the insulation bushings used in the old style pushrod-style points…..the ones used in the QD-10 Johnson and various other older Evinrude/Johnson magnetos?

Do you think a piece of Tyvek fuel hose would work?

Actually Frank; that was on my “mental list” of things to check at the hardware store. That and perhaps some drip-irrigation tubing.

Shrink tubing might work if you plan it out ahead.
Someone must sell tiny mica tubing, but not sure who.

            Prepare to be boarded!

Thanks Buc; now I at least know that what I want is called MICA tubing.

I’ve made them on the lathe using Acetal (Delrin) and think I have the specs written down somewhere.
