Can anyone tell me the model/year/manufacturer of this motor? It is available locally to me; so any advice and observations would be appreciated. Thanks!

Cool motor! I am not a Sea King expert by any stretch, but that looks to be based on a 30’s OMC or Evinrude, but I’m no expert on those either :>)
If the price is right, grab it and see if you can getting making smoke again soon

It’s a stranger to me. An Outboard Motors Corp. motor??? I don’t know.

For questions on Sea Kings I usually look at Richard’s Viking site for clues. OMC sold to both Wards and Eaton’s. Have a look at the 1936 8.5 horse

agree, try to contact Richard Paquette, he is the Viking expert, but the Sea Kings are very similar

I believe it’s a mid 1930s 8hp seaking version of the OMC 8.5hp fleettwin, I have the 1938 model but your airhorn looks A little different but the carb and gear cases were dead giveaways they came on fleetwins and Sportfours after 1934 I think 🙂

I have a 1938 also and would agree with Randy.
Here is a video of member Jim running a 1939
                      branded as a Fleetwin.

It looks like the evinrude that appears on the home page pictures.
