        Thanks for that Ken.

Is the impeller rubber or metal? Anyone got a picture of one?

Your motor is a model 492 seaking it was made in 1935 -36 it was 8.5 hp and made by Evinrude which was called OMC at that time, It was basically the same thing as the Fleetwin with a few minor differences , you can verify this in the old outboard book on page 235 and it does have a metal impeller and your carburetor and gearcase are interchangeable with the early fleetwins and sportfours, I hope this helps 🙂

I believe Randy has it pegged. I would guess a Sea King model 9186 built bpyEvinrude as there model 417 from 1932 through i935. It started out as the Elto Super "A" and the Evinrude Fleetwin. Last built as the Elto Fleetwin . . .

                    Model 492 was built in 1935 and is rated at 8.5 horse power . . . 😀

I found this 8 hp Sea King in my digital data.
Not sure of exact year, but 1930’s…..
