The actuator on my CMC tilt and trim unit bought the farm.
Instead getting another actuator I thought maybe OMC made a tilt and trim unit

no they did not. Is the CMC trim unit just the bracket that bolts to the transom, then you hang the motor off the trim unit?

I would recommend switching to a Panther integrated trim unit. They made an actual trim unit that fits all the OMC 20-35hp motors with the through-tilt-tube steering style stern bracket, not the smaller older style fastwin style stern brackets. I have one installed on my 1984 35hp model and they look nifty, work fine, and IMHO are better than the CMC products.

Thank You for the suggestion about the Panther. But a new Panther would cost $700. The replacement actuator for my CMC is $400.00. Plus – My CMC is already mounted on the boat.I was hoping that OMC made a tilt and trim for my engine that would cost less than $400.00
CMC bolts to transom and then you hang motor on the trim unit.
