Well, I personally wouldn’t reuse it…All those little sharp dents/bumps could turn into hot spots and lead to detonation/preigntion… But, I’m sure it would be OK if you smoothed all the imperfections out with some sort of little sanding disk…Doesn’t have to be perfect, just get rid of the sharp edges….

            Ok, I’ll try it out… is it off a 4cyl? I can’t find any identification numbers… odd for johnson/omc

the paint makes me think it must be johnson/omc

yes, it is off an 80s model OMC V4…I’m confused though, is this just something you have in your parts pile or are you working on the engine that this came off of? Most numbers stamped into castings are just that: casting numbers which are not actual part numbers and can not be interpreted by us mere mortals…

Well in my travels ive across a number of assortments of boat stuff many moons ago.
Amongst other things like Deere, Griswold castiron, old lathes, stoplights, jetboats etc.
Im retiring now and attempting to clean out my warehouse, these are just items that ill never get to. I could easily just scrapyard everything.. but im hoping to find homes for anything useful. I just look things up on ebay mainly and list them at a reduced price of what i see selling. Cross fingers.
Needless to say about 1000lbs of metal has already gone to the scrapyard..sad.
I was able to find a home for the 1953 thompson tvt
                Oh well

Well Beno, in this case, I would strip it down and add the aluminum to your scrap bin, not worth saving…D

In the first picture you show, the bottom left corner is a circle with the part number. #325504 if I made it out correctly? That is a very common port cylinder head for the cross flow V-4 till its end of production in 1998. Lots of guys still run those engines & are always looking for parts. Just be sure to remove any steel (use a magnet) and smooth the aluminum so you dont have any high spots. Carbon will fill in the peck marks in shirt order. Hope that helps!
