I believe the Johnson Javelin name was used on some 85 and 100hp motors from around 1972 or 73 up to 1980. The one in your picture looks like a late 70’s or 1980 model. The wording in the darker part of the cowl is the word script indicating the motor horsepower, i.e. a 100hp motor would have “One Hundred” written in the dark area.
Edit – I think that style of engine cowling in your picture was only used on the 100hp Javelins.
