Looks like it was on a engine stand

October 9, 2022 at 9:36 pm #267375Well, you should put it behind your transom clamp pads and see if they actually fit the holes in the device. I bought one of those mercury ones (not ftom bruce) and it does not fit the transomvlamp pads at all. The only mercury motor it fits is a mark 25.

Bruce,
Can you post another picture of that mercury one with a tape measure showing the distance from center to center of the pads? Thanks!

Bruce,
Did you create the original or did you use an original to make a mold that you use to recast them?
Whether it is a transom support or an engine stand support my question still stands. Accessory or dealer / factory display item?
October 10, 2022 at 1:22 pm #267408My guess is that these were never made by or for either mercury marine OR OMC. I have never seen them in either accessory catalog nor do I believe Carl would have ever knowingly contracted with a vendor/supplier who also was a vendor/supplier to OMC, particularly anything with his name on it.
Therefore, I am of the belief they’re aftermarket. Who made them and when would be great to know.
October 10, 2022 at 2:04 pm #267409I have a Johnson 3 HP transom plate. I heard they were aftermarket same as the factory accessory stands.
October 10, 2022 at 5:27 pm #267422I cast the Mercury transom plates off a already made plate
