If you purchased one of these kits be informed that the ID on the impeller may be to big. Mine was 9/16″ Causing a slipping situation! and no water pumping action. Inside diameter should be 1/2″

June 25, 2023 at 3:22 pm #277369Judging by the price compared to a genuine OMC kit, the poorly worded language in the Ebay ad and the “unbranded” part description in the ad, I suppose that’s another Chinese import. That blows.

Wonder if E bay would get your money back? I sold a new Lionel train transformer once on e bay & the buyer said the power cord was sliced. It was still sealed in the box when I shipped it. He was trying to get it free! I hate scammers!!
June 25, 2023 at 8:21 pm #277391I sent a message to the seller. I don’t expect anything but maybe if they check their stock it might help the next guy. Anybody know what motor has a 9/16″ drive shaft? I needed the housing for my fd12. This is the first kit I have ordered. I should have caught that loose fitting impeller when I first assembled it. Sure glad I caught it at start up in my test tank. Chinese parts are a way of life I guess. AC oil filters now have Chinese writing on the box. Many Briggs n Stratton parts are foreign. I swear these company buy Chinese and mark the price up and sell things as original.

June 25, 2023 at 10:17 pm #277399The impeller with the larger bore fits 58-63 ten horse and 64 and later 9.5 horse motors. Their shaft size is around .547″ +/-.

I thought the 58 to 63 QD’s were the same as the 5-1/2 or 7-1/2Hp! I gotta pay closer attention. I just rebuilt a lower unit on a 58 QD. Wonder what I have in that puppy?
thanks dale

No, the driveshafts are different sizes. You should have a 775519 (377178) impeller in the QD. That would be 18-3003 for Sierra guys.
Sounds like you might have a spare for the QD now!
