Thanks, Al Klebeck had a 1964 pdf with parts numbers,
and it showed no superseded part number for those rings.
Someone suggested that Scott 7.5 or 10 hp rings would work,
but I haven’t checked it out yet.Prepare to be boarded!
February 8, 2024 at 1:52 pm #284753The Scott 3.5 and 3.6 hp single cylinder motors seem to have the
same 2-1/8″ bore as the Johnson K’s I’m working on, but
does anyone know if those rings are 1/8″ thick, like the Johnsons? The Scott 463-1877 rings don’t seem readily available.
Anyone selling them?Prepare to be boarded!
January 18, 2025 at 6:33 pm #293449Hey Buccaneer. Did you ever find rings for your KA 37? Any info would be helpful. Looking for a connecting rod as well.

Here’s my notes from the KA-37 regarding the piston rings…..
———–9.3 HP
2-1/8″ bore x 1-31/32″ stroke
13 pint gas tank capacity
Champion R-7 spark plug
Weight, 64#Compression (with fogging oil)
85 psi in both cylinders…
but I found the bottom piston had
one ring missing.
Rings are 2-1/8″ x 1/8″
1-26-24, I ordered 4 Maytag rings
of that size.
Note: Maytag rings were about .013 deeper,
so I relieved the inside of the rings a
few thousands with a Dremel & stone.Note: Replaced the four Maytag rings with Scott 3.6 hp
rings. Compression after 15 second run, T-95, B- 98 psi.Prepare to be boarded!
January 24, 2025 at 10:17 am #293618You might try Otto Gas Engine works in Elkton Maryland. I have purchased rings from them for some time
January 24, 2025 at 4:52 pm #293637I ordered Johnson ‘A’ rings from him last May, sent a check and sample ring. Haven’t been able to get in touch with him in months.
