                  Informative and helpful article.

I swapped out the original coil on my 1936 Handtwin with (2) BRP 58477 coils.

Dressed the points, has new plugs, wires and original condenser that tested @ .11uF. Spark is blue but not very impressive.

Being that I changed to the new BRP coils should I also use a .22uF condenser? I’m currently waiting on a .11uF capacitor to put in the original condenser can.

Please advise on your thoughts which option may be best.

NAPA can get both of these.

                    Echlin is $17.04

                    Standard T-Series is $ 19.00ish

there is a relationship between coil and condensers but te critical aspect seems to be more  magnetism generated   and  it’s impact on the coil windings  not to mention  protection from arcing across points.     trial an error I guess with your new set up using modern coils on older magnets

but m. Mohat seems to like the middle ground using .22 uf

This is from series of Antique Outboarder articles (written by Bill Mohat) concerning testing and selecting condensers.I run .22uf and higher in my early A models
