What attributes makes it suitable to mount on a canoe?
What’s up with the wood block by the transom mount?
Interesting!Prepare to be boarded!
December 12, 2021 at 8:04 am #250980Someone fabricated this wooden transom clamp….adapter? I’d assume that this motor originally came with a canoe bracket. You could buy and swap out for a square stern bracket. I’m not sure what this home made modification is for?

I have been led to believe “C” denotes a canoe motor.
That is based on what Peter Hunn states in his
Old Outboard Book along with this example.
Hunn shows nothing for DN but its not uncommon
for there not to be any record of the uncommon
models.
The brass motors were stamped the way yours is.

A "Boathouse Repair" is one that done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.

a broom stick through and have a two person carry handle
for those long portages!Prepare to be boarded!
