Dang it man, what a find!! I’d also buy it in a heartbeat if I was anywhere near you. If it’s not locked up it could easily fetch $200+

I’d pay up the 200 bucks for that one in a heartbeat. It’s about 5 hours away from me so it’s a bit far for one motor, but it is pretty awesome. I’m sure I could have that motor running perfectly in an afternoon.

In order to get it running in top shape would at least require coils, capacitors, carburetor rebuild kit and water pump impeller. It may also involve replacing rubber parts such as fuel lines, seals and high voltage ignition wires.

I thought there were two years with the sea horse cast into the housing…. At least there are two different green QD’s in that photo with the sea horse housing!
Gary– I know Johnson isn’t your thing!! Have you considered writing a memoir about you and your family and Evinrude? Maybe the club can help find a “ghost writer” to help put it together????!

I had posted a brief outline on the Florida Chapter’s old web site. I don’t know what happened to it.

June 9, 2019 at 1:28 pm #176943Great looking motor! For about $75 in parts (coils, water pump impeller, condenser and maybe points) it should run great. May also need lower gearcase seals. I have one like that but someone painted the case all green – and didn’t replace the graphics. Note that the gas tank – if you have it, can be worth almost as much as the motor in some parts of the country.
