I am working on a Wizard KD3 and found it is missing the upper thrust bearing on the crankshaft 12-21736. Would anyone know the specs on this washer or a picture of it?
      Thanks

It’s probably nothing special just a normal bronze thrust washer.
I would measure the end play of the crankshaft while installed
in the crankcase, and go from there to size the thickness of the
        washer.

        Prepare to be boarded!

According to The New Parts List for Mercury Models Manufactured
          1939 – 1953
Only postwar singles had thrust washers and both die cast and sand
cast crase models used SAME oart
          number for upper thrust washer,
That does not agree with the two examples I have torn down at the
momnet, KD-3 die cast and KE-3
          sand cast crankcast.
So, who are you going to believe
the List or my lying eyes?
Seriously, the KD-3 die cast has a thin washer and the KE-3 washer
is a steped washer that is much
          thicker.
KD-3-1 had die cast crankcase with (usually) Eisemnn model 61K
          magneto. KD-3-2 second version
had sand cast case with Bendix
          magneto.
So my guess is the answer depends
upon which KD-3 version you are
          working on,
You may have to wing it by making
a washer that fits the recess and
shaving it thin enough to give
end play of crankshaft… at a guess 6 to 12 thou. It is in manual somewhere.
          Tom Thuerwachter may have the
          part,

Thanks for the responses. I have the diecast crankcase so it looks like the washer is nothing special. I will just need to do a bit of measuring.

              About 0.062″ thick
              I.D. & O.D. can be determined
FLAT piece of brass/bronze with a notch in outer edge to engage
              anti rotation pin,
              Good Luck
